Privacy Policy

Poor Mortal is a playful daily-fortune app operated by BUDGEFROWNIE LTD ("we", "us", "our"). This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have. We aim to collect as little as possible.

Account Information

• Your email address and name, provided when you sign in with Apple or Google. If you use Sign in with Apple's private relay, we only receive a relay email address.

Profile & Fortune Inputs

• Your date of birth and the personality details you enter — these are used to generate your character, daily fortunes, and compatibility readings.
• The little character you build and your daily "vibe meter" entries.
• Friends and family you choose to add (such as a name and date of birth) for pairing and compatibility cards.

Purchase Information

• Records of any in-app purchases or subscriptions, used to unlock and restore your entitlements.
• Purchases are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Payment details such as card numbers are handled entirely by Apple or Google and are never collected or stored by us.
• RevenueCat is used to manage purchase records and entitlements across platforms.

Device & Notification Data

• If you enable notifications, a device push token is stored so we can tell you when a new card is ready.
• Basic technical information needed to run the app reliably (such as device type and app version).

• Profile & fortune inputs: to generate your character, daily fortunes, and compatibility cards.
• Account info: to save your progress and sign you in.
• Purchases: to provide and restore paid features.
• Push token: to send the notifications you opt into.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

Poor Mortal does not track you across other companies' apps or websites. We do not collect advertising identifiers (such as Apple's IDFA or Google's Advertising ID), we do not show third-party ads, and we do not use advertising SDKs.

To generate fortunes and readings, our servers first derive an abstract astrological and personality profile from your date of birth — for example your zodiac animal and element and other traditional chart values — together with the personality traits you select. Only these derived values are sent to Google Gemini to write your cards.

We never send your name, email address, or your actual date of birth to the AI. The model only ever sees the abstract chart and personality values described above, never information that identifies you. These AI calls are made server-side only — no third-party AI keys live in the app. Generated content is for entertainment purposes only.

We use the following services to operate Poor Mortal. Each has its own privacy policy:

• Apple Sign in & Google Sign-In — authentication.
• Supabase — authentication, database, and backend services (hosted in the EU).
• Google Gemini— AI generation of fortunes and readings from derived chart values (server-side; see "AI Processing" above).
• RevenueCat — in-app purchase and subscription management.
• Apple Push Notification service & Firebase Cloud Messaging — push notification delivery.
• Apple App Store / Google Play Store — app distribution and payment processing.

With your permission, Poor Mortal may send push notifications via Apple Push Notification service (iOS) and Firebase Cloud Messaging (Android). A device push token is stored to deliver them. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.

Your data is stored securely. We use:

• Row-level security policies to isolate each user's data.
• Encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for all data transmission.
• Secure token storage on your device.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data is permanently deleted, except where we must retain limited records (such as transaction logs) for accounting or legal compliance.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, use the in-app controls or contact us at the email below.

You can delete your account at any time from within the app settings. This permanently removes your account and associated data. Alternatively, contact us at the email below and we will process your request within 30 days.

Poor Mortal is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

We are based in the United Kingdom and our backend is hosted in the EU. By using Poor Mortal, you understand that your data may be processed in these regions and by the third-party services listed above.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes via the app or email. Continued use of Poor Mortal after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
